Why am I me, and why not you? Why am I here, and why not there? When did, time begin, and where does space end? (…) How can it be that I, who am I, wasn’t before I was, and that sometime I, the one I am, no longer will be the one I am?

in Wings of Desire, Wim Wenders

Who am I? Why am I what I am and not something else? What is it that I’m looking for? What am I doing here? We are often confronted with these questions, but not always ready or receptive to answer them. Either because we are afraid and our insecurities close us or because we are easily breakable by our concerns.

“Why am I me and why not you? Why am I here, and why not there?” All our lives, we long to discover who we are and whether we belong somewhere. We wander in the uncertainty, seeking for a state of comfort and serenity. But, will we ever feel it in its entirety? Our impermanent nature seems to stimulate this constant dissatisfaction.

Nonetheless, it’s the restlessness itself that energizes us to look for different states of being with which we most identify (or not…). The photographs shown above presents itself as journey paths yet to be revealed, defined, conquered, shared.
