The invitation for this talk about on how to reduce individual waste and contribute to the collective awareness on this issue meets the iniciative ‘Imp!act Lisboa‘, proposed by Imp!act – Euforia, in partnership with Impact Hub Lisboa, Changing Wave and GASTagus.
Euforia, the organizer of Imp!act, is an NGO that promotes youth-driven social innovation enterprise. Its mission is to bring together people to imagine, design and implement bold solutions to today’s most pressing social, environmental and economic challenges. Uniting different generations, businesses and civil society, they mean to transform the educational system by providing fun events and trainings that inspire and empower people to move from passiveness and good intentions to activeness and changemaking. Euforia’s goal is to have massively scaled this approach, having an impact over 10 million young people globally until 2020. They believe it possible that by the 2030s this youth-led movement will have transformed social change into the desired lifestyle of our times.
With the support of renowned international experts, they have developped engaging events and trainings that offer young people and executives unique learning opportunities. In this quest for change, they introduce participants to changemaking by having them meet real-world young people whose engagement has made a tangible difference in their community. They create a unique, non-hierarchical safe space to jointly succeed, fail and reflect on their learnings. They challenge their preconceived notions about their own (in)ability to drive change through concrete, seemingly “impossible”. To do so effectively, they employ a holistic mix of state-of-the-art and high-impact collaboration methodologies, such as experience-driven and transformative learning, facilitation, design thinking, coaching, team building and rapid prototyping. This allows individuals and diverse groups to overcome their own cynicism, doubt and lethargy so as to unleash their full changemaker potential.
Impact Hub Lisbon
Impact Hub Lisbon is a global community of impact entrepreneurs who “believes in innovation, collaboration and empathy as motors in building an inclusive and sustainable world for all.” It is made up of a diverse and multifaceted group of entrepreneurs, creatives, students and educators who are concerned with contributing to sustainability from an economic, social and environmental point of view.
Changing Wave is an association that enhance young people through the arts (music, dance and theater) to promote equality. They fight for zero discrimination and their aim is to catalyze a wave of change, capable of creating a real impact on current and future generations.
GASTagus presents itself with the purpose of sensitizing university students to the inequalities that are manifested globally. In this sense, volunteer projects are created in Portugal and Africa. They are expected to be able to take a responsible and conscious attitude to active participation in society and to serve as a model in communities.
Do you want to make a difference and don’t know where to start from? Have an idea but lack the confidence or some team to turn it into reality? Want to contribute to solving an environmental or social challenge? Then imp!act training is for you!
At imp!act you’ll get together with enthusiastic young people and create inspirational ideas and projects to address global challenges locally. You’ll find out how to get involved with an existing organisation or develop your own social or environmental project, and then you’ll set out to test it right away. You’ll also have the chance to meet and get feedback from renowned experts in your community — all of that in only 3.5 days.
Day 1 (6:30 PM – 8 PM) ‘Inspiration’: Get inspired by the invited changemakers and start sharing your project ideas.
Day 2 (9 PM – 8 PM) ‘Let creativity reign’: Learn how to transform your interests into concrete projects. After a festival of pitches, the groups will be formed and begin to work on the projects.
Day 3 (9 AM – 8 PM) ‘Facing reality’: Test your ideas of team projects starting on the ground.
Day 4 (9 AM – 8 PM) ‘Give your ideas wings’: The projects are adjusted with the help of the experts before the final presentation to the jury.
The minimum price to join the Imp!act is € 35. This value was set so that the event could be accessible to all. In fact, the actual cost of Imp!act is above this value. For this reason, if you want to or can make a greater contribution, you will be helping to ensure the sustainability of the event.
